Top 5 Winter Skincare Facials for Sensitive Skin

Winter Skincare

Melbourne winters do something specific to skin. Cold mornings, dry indoor heating, less hydration, more redness. The result is dull, sensitised, sometimes flaky skin by July.

Here are the five facial treatments we recommend most through May to August at Hadia Beauty Dandenong, in order of how often we book them in winter.

1. Hydra Oxy Facial with LED ($250)

The flagship facial. Hydra-dermabrasion (gentle exfoliation with serum infusion), oxygen therapy and LED light combine into one 90-minute treatment.

Why it works for winter: deep hydration without irritation. The oxygen layer locks moisture into the skin and the LED reduces redness.

Best for: dull skin, dehydration, occasional redness. Glows immediately, gets better over the next 72 hours.

Book once a month through winter for the most noticeable difference.

2. Deep Cleansing Facial ($90)

The classic. Cleanse, exfoliate, steam, extract, mask, hydrate. 60 minutes.

Why it works for winter: removes the build-up of dead skin and product residue that thicker winter creams leave behind. Ends with hydration which winter skin needs more of.

Best for: combination skin, congestion, occasional breakouts.

3. Microdermabrasion ($80)

Mechanical exfoliation that removes the top layer of dead skin. Gentler than chemical peels, suitable for sensitive skin types.

Why it works for winter: clears the dullness without irritation. Allows your moisturiser to absorb properly afterwards.

Best for: dullness, mild texture, post-summer pigmentation. Can be done as a course of three to six sessions, two weeks apart.

4. LED Light Therapy add-on ($40)

Twenty minutes under medical-grade LED. Red light reduces inflammation and supports collagen. Blue light controls bacteria.

Why it works for winter: speeds up recovery from any redness, irritation or breakouts that come from the seasonal change.

Best added to a Hydra Oxy or deep cleansing facial. Excellent stand-alone if you have winter rosacea-like flares.

5. Olaplex Hair Treatment + Facial Combo ($130)

Not a facial, but worth mentioning here. Hair gets winter-damaged the same way skin does. We pair an Olaplex bond-repair treatment with a quick deep cleansing facial.

Why it works for winter: 90 minutes covers both face and hair recovery in one visit.

Daily skincare tips for Melbourne winter

Switch to a richer night cream from May to August.

Add a hydrating serum (hyaluronic acid) under moisturiser.

Do not stop sunscreen. UV is still active even on cloudy winter days.

Take warm showers, not hot. Hot water strips skin oils.

Drink water actively (winter dehydrates you the same way summer does, you just feel thirsty less).

Book a facial consultation

If you are unsure which facial is right for your skin, book a free 10-minute skin consult. We will assess your skin and recommend the best winter routine. Walk in any day or book online.
